Settlement: Retained to represent more than 800 workers injured by exposure to ethylene dichloride (“EDC”) in Louisiana as a result of the reckless and negligent acts of several international corporations that led to one of the largest chemical spills in U.S. history. Confidential 9 figure settlement on terms favorable to the clients. Settlement: Retained to represent more than 2500 individuals injured by the diet drug fen-phen as a result of the negligent and egregious acts of American Home Products. Confidential settlements favorable to the clients have been reached for some but not all. Negotiations are ongoing. Verdict: Retained to represent family of four who was severely injured in an automobile accident caused by the inattentive driver of a company truck. Jury returned a verdict in excess of $7 million. Verdict: Retained to defend an individual who was wrongfully accused of causing an automobile accident. The jury returned a defense verdict. Verdict: Retained to defend a physician against charges he failed to diagnose breast cancer. The court found the defendant physician not liable. Judgment: Retained to represent an individual who was wrongfully sued for breach of contract concerning a $3 billion mining transaction. The court found Defendant was not liable and dismissed the suit. Verdict: Retained to represent a Detention Services Officer who was wrongfully terminated by his department. The civil service commission ruled against the department and reinstated the officer. Verdict: Retained to represent Deputy Sheriff who was wrongfully terminated by his department. The civil service commission ruled against the department and reinstated the Deputy. Judgment: Retained to represent a young child and his family against the manufacturer of the cigarette lighter that severely burned the four year old boy. The trial court entered a judgment for $27 million.
